I first went to Hastings Caves in Tasmania (where I was born) when I was very young in the late 50's. There was an outdoor thermal pool there ,that my parents used to take me to. It would be freezing cold outside, but the pool was like a warm bath . I never wanted to get out !
These early memories lead to childhood dreams of being asleep under the warm water . Part 1 of this album reflects those dreams.
Part 11 is from the inspiration of being in Hastings Caves, the Newdegate Room reflects those feelings.
Part 111(a) is about the time we would have to leave to take the 125km drive back to our house. A long way when you are young.
Part 111 (b)Reflections represents these memories and the long road Ive travelled since those early days.
I was last at Hastings Caves about 10 years ago..but will no doubt return some day !
I call this music Dronal Ambient..it is peaceful and hypnotic and represents my music at its most laidback.
