With the death of my parents a couple of years ago( and within four months of each other), I was attempting to seek solace in music ( not my own !) and found it really difficult to find something that was appropriate.
If it was a song I knew, it was connected to other memories.
Some songs were happy, some sad but not appropriate ( wrong lyrics etc)
With the deluge of feelings one has at the passing of parents ( or others) we need time for contemplation and to express grief.
So, I wrote three connected 25 minute pieces of music that, although electronic and modular in nature, contained both gravitas and enlightenment in an orchestral type setting... a small contribution to try to fulfil that musical void.
Gods Waiting Room is the realisation for the preparation of on coming death.
Requiem for the actual passing and the time of the funeral.
Ascension for the releasing of the spirit into the future Afterlife.
Hopefully they will give someone else solace in their time of need.
